He who has health, has hope; and he who has hope, has everything. Your cardiologist takes care of you.

Who am I?

My name is Fernando de la Guía Galipienso.

I am a doctor — it is my true passion.

I specialise in cardiology and family medicine.

I am passionate about medicine and all things heart-related. I received my doctorate from the University of Valencia, my beloved home city, before specialising in Madrid. There, I was fortunate enough to meet great professionals who helped me train in this wonderful specialty.

I currently work in two fantastic coastal towns in Alicante: Dénia and Benidorm. They have a special light that makes them enchanting, and the sea provides incredible energy.

My main focus is clinical cardiology, with a specialisation in imaging techniques, primarily echocardiography. Everything related to this vital organ is essential in my work, from coronary artery disease and myocardial infarction to rhythm disturbances and heart failure, which is one of the biggest problems of our time.

My other passion is sport, and I have been able to combine the two through sports cardiology, sharing my knowledge with anyone who sees sport as the best way to stay healthy. Since October 2022, I have been the coordinator of the Spanish Society of Cardiology working group, participating in meetings and events specialising in this field, and working with recreational, amateur and professional athletes, such as the UAE-Emirates cycling team.

For several years now, I have also been involved in another area that I am passionate about: teaching at university. I am an assistant professor in the Department of Pathology on the Physiotherapy Degree programme at the Catholic University of Valencia, teaching Medical-Surgical Conditions.

I always tell my colleagues the same thing: ‘Listen to the patient; they will give you the key to making the correct diagnosis’.

Being able to work in my chosen field is my greatest gift, and I feel proud and satisfied when I am able to dedicate myself to my patients.

My Hobbies

MEDICINE

MEDICINE is my true VOCATION.

It represents for me a feeling of personal GRATIFICATION to which I give myself to other people.

It is not only treating or healing the sick, it is understanding, helping, and improving their quality of life, trying to make us BETTER PEOPLE TOGETHER.

FAMILY

I love the wise words of Pope Francis:

Having a place to go is called HOME.
Having people to love is called a FAMILY.
And having both is called BLESSING.

SPORT

SPORT represents for me a way of relieving problems and tensions from day to day.

It represents a great opportunity, to learn to give the best of yourself, with SACRIFICE and commitment.

We have to find VALUES to grow and be better.

REST

Rest, ENJOY with my family a good movie at the CINEMA, go to the THEATER.

Take a WALK in the nature, READ a book quietly, LISTEN to music …

TALK with my friends, TRAVEL, and DISCOVER places and cultures, enjoy the summer.

It is fantastic to rest after many days of work.
